UPCOMING WEBINARS
Working Landscape Certificates
As the interest in biomaterials grows, so follows concern regarding sourcing issues surrounding these materials including food competition, water and fertilizer use, inclusion of GMOs, and energy consumption. The Working Landscapes Certificate (WLC) program was started in 2006 to promote more sustainable agricultural production for emerging biomaterials sectors. This innovative program allows manufacturers, retailers and other consumers of commodity crops to offer a more sustainable product to their customers by encouraging sustainable crop production, providing additional income to farmers using these practices, and improving the overall ecological impact of agricultural production. In this webinar, we will hear about the expansion of the program, how to get involved, and from businesses that hold certificates.
Recycling PLA
Whether polylactic acid (PLA) can be recycled with mainstream PET continues to be debatable. Released studies contradict each other, with one indicating PLA contaminates the PET recycling stream and the other indicating it does not. In this webinar, we will hear about the ongoing efforts to recycle PLA, including who is already doing it, the business case for recycling PLA, and its future outlook according to a pilot-based study. |
